LONDON is the craziest place on earth! Insanely high rent, tourists swarming everywhere. And, of course, the Royal family…
But London is also an incredibly beautiful city. Really. This is why so many great movies are set in London. And this is why London’s streets also are considered one of the most beautiful backgrounds for photographers. EVER! Did you have a client sending you to London to shoot? If not, we can help!
For our city series we commissioned one of the best photographers of our time to shoot backgrounds for us. Our first set was the Venice set, and it was so good that we had to get another European capital – London. And we LOVE it: The elegant townhouses, the typical red phone booths and many a royal palace form the backdrop for urban composing.
But it is not only the city that makes this package different. This package is fundamentally different from your average vacation photos and other stock photos. As with the Venice set, to place a model in a pre-made backdrop you have to take the photo with the composite in mind… Which luckily, we did:
Most photographers shoot models as good as they can. This means that the model is probably “sitting” on more than 20 megapixels, and if they are standing than it is 20 megapixels shot vertically . Landscapes and cities, however, are mostly shot landscape mode . This means that you either have to squash your model or shoot bigger landscapes. Which we did! The backdrops are a massive 80 megapixels files (or 10,000 x 7,500 px), so no scaling!scaling-free work.
The focal point in the pictures was deliberately set “wrong” – we are not focusing on the building, but rather on where a model will be placed, so you would get a sweet, sweet bokeh of a Schneider-Kreuznach lens
